Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy notched in the penalties, and the Boston Bruins snapped a 4-match losing series with a 4-3 victory against the Dallas Stars at TD Garden in Boston, MA.
Marchand kept the Bruins’ bid alive in the shootout after the Stars took a 1-0 lead. McAvoy put the visiting team in a position where they needed to notch, but Jeremy Swayman stopped 8 of 9 shots in the penalties and ended the match with 43 saves.

Boston forward David Pastrnak tied the match on a 6-on-5 advantage with fewer than 2 minutes in regulation. Pastrnak wired in a 1-timer from the left circle for his 35th goal of the campaign after McAvoy got the Stars defense to commit to the Boston defenseman.
Stars defenseman Esa Lindell snapped a 2-2 tie with less than 10 minutes in the 3rd period after keeping the puck on a 2-on-1 break for his 5th campaign goal. Wyatt Johnston and Ryan Suter also notched in regulation for the Stars, while goalie Oettinger stopped 26 shots.
Bruins’ Justin Brazeau notched his 1st league goal in his 1st National Hockey League match, while Jesper Boqvist also notched. The fourth line provided the Bruins’ 1st 2 goals.
Before the clash, the Bruins recognized Marchand for recently playing his 1,000th match in the league.

Dallas will play against the Rangers in the Big Apple on Tuesday, while Boston will play against the Oilers in Canada on Wednesday for the 1st match of a 4-match road trip.
