Patrice Bergeron had a goal and an assist, Brad Marchand, Craig Smith, Derek Forbort and Trent Frederic also scored, and the Boston Bruins blanked the Nashville Predators 5-0 on Thursday night.

Nick Foligno and Hampus Lindholm each had two assists while Jeremy Swayman made 29 saves for Boston. Lindholm already reached 200 assists in his NHL career.
The Bruins are 27-0-3 when scoring first this season.
“Our best player was Swayman because they had a lot of good looks and he was patient on his feet, made a lot of shoulder saves, glove saves and didn’t give up any rebounds,” Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said.
The Predators have dropped three of four coming out of the All-Star break despite Juuse Saros making 25 saves.
It looks now that Nashville’s hopes of getting back into contention for a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference are fading.
“They beat us in a lot of areas,” Predators coach John Hynes said. “It wasn’t good enough by us. We got beat. We’ve got to execute better in certain areas, but I’d say the game in general, they were the better team in all facets.”
The Predators host the Florida Panthers while the Bruins are at home against the New York Islanders on Saturday.
