Bryan Mbeumo has officially joined Manchester United in a £65 million transfer from Brentford, describing the move as a dream come true.
The 25-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with an option to extend for a further year. He becomes United’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon under new manager Ruben Amorim.

Mbeumo’s transfer concludes a lengthy summer saga that began in early June, when United submitted their first bid. Their third offer, worth £65m upfront with a further £6m in potential add-ons, was accepted last week.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” said Mbeumo. “I want to reach another level here, learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players. This is a massive club with incredible fans, and we are determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
Mbeumo enjoyed a standout season in 2024–25, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League – both career bests. In total, he netted 70 goals and delivered 51 assists across 242 appearances for Brentford since joining from Troyes in 2019.

United’s director of football Jason Wilcox praised the new signing’s output and mentality: “Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional. His belief in our project and determination to join the club confirmed he was the perfect fit for Manchester United and the culture we are developing.”
The £65m deal makes Mbeumo Brentford’s record sale, surpassing the £40m move of Ivan Toney to Al-Ahli in 2024. Mbeumo is expected to be part of Manchester United’s squad for their upcoming pre-season tour of the United States, which begins on Thursday.
