Antetokounmpo got his second triple-double of the season

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered another standout performance with his second triple-double of the season, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 129-117 victory over the visiting Indiana Pacers. Antetokounmpo, the two-time NBA MVP, racked up 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists, as the Bucks dominated the game from start to finish.

This win gives Milwaukee a 2-0 record in the NBA Cup.

Damian Lillard supported the effort with 24 points and 13 assists, marking his third consecutive double-double. The Bucks, who have now won five of their last six games, showed significant improvement after a challenging start to the season, which saw them at 2-8. Notably, six Bucks players scored in double figures, and Antetokounmpo’s triple-double was the 47th of his career.

In another game, Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics to a 108-96 victory over the Washington Wizards with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday each contributed 16 points, as the Celtics extended their winning streak to three games. The reigning NBA champions are currently 2-1 in the NBA Cup.

James Harden’s 22 points and nine assists powered the Los Angeles Clippers to a 104-88 triumph against the Sacramento Kings, extending their winning streak to four games. Despite missing their top scorer, Norman Powell, due to a hamstring strain, the Clippers managed to secure a solid 1-1 record in the NBA’s in-season tournament. This competition will culminate next month with semi-finals and a championship game in Las Vegas.

In Philadelphia, rookie Jared McCain captured attention by declaring himself “the rookie of the year” after nailing a three-pointer in the 76ers’ 113-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets. The 20-year-old, drafted 16th overall in June, scored an impressive 30 points, helping to snap the Sixers’ five-game losing streak despite the absence of Joel Embiid and Paul George. McCain’s performance marked his seventh consecutive game with 20 or more points, placing him among Sixers legends like Allen Iverson and Jerry Stackhouse as the only rookies to achieve this feat.
