The Boston Celtics have received center Nikola Vucevic in an exchange with the Chicago Bulls, as the team will now have the much-needed help for their frontcourt.
The Celts will trade guard Anfernee Simons and a 2nd-round selection to the Bulls.
The center figures to fill a major need at that position for Boston, which has primarily used inexperienced players like Neemias Queta and Luka Garza at that position in the current campaign.
The Celtics (31-18), led by Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard, begin today even with the Knicks for the 2nd-best record in the East.
Nikola, who is 35 years old, is averaging almost 17 points and 9 boards in 48 matches this campaign, his 5th with Chicago.
It was the 2nd exchange completed today by Chicago, who also traded Kevin Huerter to the Pistons in a 3-organization deal involving the Wolves.
Anfernee, who is 26 years old, averaged over 14 points per match from the bench for the Celtics in the current campaign. However, a center is much more needed at the moment for Boston, and they decided to trade him for the experienced Bulls center.
