The defenceman and the forward were waived yesterday, with Calgary wanting to clear the team and cap space to activate Oliver Kylington ahead of today’s match vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets.
New Jersey placed centre Jack Hughes on injured reserve to clear a spot on the team for Nick.
DeSimone has 1 goal and 4 assists in 23 matches with Calgary this season, his 1st campaign in the league.
Nick made his debut in the past campaign, playing 4 matches.
Ruzicka has 3 goals and 6 assists in 39 matches with the Canadian NHL franchise this campaign, his 4th with the Flames.
