The Canadian team beat the host country Republic of Korea, 7-6, with an eight-one round-robin record, and were also lucky because the Netherlands defeated Estonia 8-6.
“That kind of came out of nowhere,” Jones spoke to the press. “We just wanted to end the round robin off great, and of course, with a victory, and we were quite comfortable with 2nd place. 1st place is just an unexpected extra. ”
Before the beginning of the games on Thursday, both national teams – the Canadian and the Estonian had 7 wins and 1 loss.
Canada will face in the ½ final the winner of the clash between Scotland and the USA.
