The Vancouver Canucks will be without forward Nils Hoglander for the start of the season after he underwent surgery for a lower-body injury on Monday. The team announced the recovery timeline is expected to be eight to 10 weeks.
Hoglander, 24, suffered the injury during the second period of a preseason matchup against the Calgary Flames last Wednesday.
The Swedish winger contributed 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 72 appearances last season, his fifth in the NHL since being drafted by Vancouver in the second round in 2019.
