AC Milan got their fourth win of the Serie A season, beating Hellas Verona 1-0 at San Siro. The Rossoneri are temporary on top of the standings, equal with city-rival Inter with 12 points.
The kick-off was delayed by 25 minutes as heavy rain poured over San Siro and made the pitch very hard to play on.
After the start, Milan were controlling the ball comfortably and the goal wasn’t long awaited. In the 8 minute Olivier Giroud stole the ball after the center line and sent the ball into a tunnel for Rafael Leao, who managed to outrun his opponents and slot the ball into the right corner.
This way Leao scored three consecutive goals in Serie A for the first time in his career since joining Milan in 2019.

Ten minutes later Verona had a great chance to equalize, but Sportiello made a terrific save with one hand to keep the Rossoneri lead. After the break both teams didn’t play much of an attacking football, as the home side looked comfortable to control the game. In the last five minutes Milan had couple of good chances to seal the win, but Musah and Jovic missed good opportunities.
