The Arizona Cardinals made a huge decision these days about Kyler Murray. Now they must take another one that will impact the future of both the QB and the organization.
Arizona must make a decision by this offseason whether to trade Kyler, release him, or opt to pay another almost 20 million dollars in guaranteed money that becomes due on the 5th day of the new NFL year in March.
The franchise and the QB are expected to have extensive talks to help decide which is the best course of action in the future. At the moment, rumors are that it is more likely that Arizona and Murray will part ways, as some have labeled it as imminent.
But right now, there is still a lot of time and several matches before any of the sides must make a final decision. However, Kyler was placed on injured reserve a few days ago with a mid-foot sprain, which means that the quarterback will be sidelined at least 4 matches while the Cardinals will start Jacoby Brissett during that period.
Schefter: Cardinals, Kyler Murray expected to have "extensive discussions" to determine whether to move forward together or go their own ways.
