Carlos Sainz with Ferrari won the Singapore Grand Prix to snatch Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s winning streak this season. The Austrian team won every race this year, but the Spaniard managed to take home the win under the lights at Marina Bay circuit.
Sainz started well from pole, while Leclerc was fast on his soft tire to overtake Russel at turn 1 and made a Ferrari 1-2 in the first lap. Both Ferraris were managing the pace comfortably, but a Safety Car came out and sent almost everybody into the pits for tire changes just over 20 laps into the race.

Sainz stopped first, followed by Leclerc, but the Monaco driver was held up because of traffic and got out of the pits at sixth place. He got himself into fifth, but was unable to go higher than that at the difficult to overtake Marina Bay.

With twenty laps to go virtual safety car was called and both Mercedes drivers decided to pit, falling to fourth and fifth. They put on the faster medium tires and were the fastest two cars on the track, managing to get Leclerc, but in the fight with Lando Norris Russell made a big mistake in the final lap, gifting Hamilton the last position on the podium.
