The Eagles' defensive tackle felt sorry about what he did.

Philadelphia Eagles DT Jalen Carter was ejected from the new NFL season opener as his team defeated the Dallas Cowboys 24-20, but he was out only seconds after the match started.

After the opening kickoff, the match was delayed because of an injury to Philadelphia’s fullback Ben VanSumeren, who was on the field for a few minutes. That’s exactly when the accident happened as Jalen and Dallas QB Dak Prescott got face-to-face, and Carter spat on Prescott.

“It was my mistake and I will not repeat that,” shared the Eagles’ defensive tackle after the match. “I’m sorry that I let down my team and the supporters of our team. Not being able to play, even to start the match, made me sad, but I learnt my lesson and it will not happen again. I promised that.”

It was shown later that Dak was spitting in the direction of Carter and the Philadelphia defense before the defensive tackle spat on him.

The Cowboys quarterback also commented on the incident, as he labeled it a misunderstanding that escalated, and that he spat during the matches, and Carter thought that Dak was doing it intentionally.
