The Cavaliers defeat the Hornets for the second time in three days

Cleveland Cavaliers stroll into a comfortable 120-104 victory over toothless Hornets on Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers were playing without their star player Donovan Mitchell, who was out injured with sprained finger, but that didn’t stop them from delivering a clynical performance to breeze pass rusty Hornets.

Evan Mobley had 26 points as the team from Cleveland scored 35 points off Charlotte turnovers. Cedi Osman scored 24 points, coming off the bench and Caris LeVert added another 22 points to the Cavaliers’ tally.

The result means the team from Cleveland have grabbed a victory in five out of their last six games.

“We’re ready for that playoff basketball mindset,” said Cavaliers forward Lamar Stevens

“We are ready for whatever is up next. I think we are really connected and focusing on the details to get us to where we want to go and to make a big run later in the playoffs. So we need big games like this.”

Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 28 points for the Hornets and Teddy Rozier added 22 points and 10 assists to his name. The result is a big disappointment for the Charlotte team, who have now lost 3 games in a row and have fallen 11-27 at home.

“There’s a reason why they’re the best defensive team in the NBA — they create a lot of turnovers, they’re physical, they have size,” Hornets coach Steve Clifford said.

“When you get behind, it’s hard to come back. We had 10 more (turnovers) in the second half. You’re just not going to win” playing that way.”

The Cavaliers host Philadelphia on Wednesday night, while the Hornets play against the same team on Friday night.
