Paul is planning to meet with franchises that have enough salary cap space to potentially ink him and the Clippers beginning tomorrow night.
With him declining his player option, the opt-in-and-trade scenario is no longer a possibility.
Paul (34) is coming off a campaign in which he competed 74 regular campaign matches – his most since he was traded to the LA franchise before the 2019-20 campaign.
The 9-time All-Star averaged almost 23 points, over 5 boards and almost 4 assists. George shot career-highs of 47.1% from the field, over 40% from the 3-point line and over 90% from the free-throw line.
After LA and Kawhi Leonard agreed to a 3 year, 153 million dollar extension at the beginning of the 2024, Paul believed that he would ink his own extension. He was eligible for an extension up to 4 years and 221 million dollars.
