The Houston Texans and WR Nico Collins have agreed to a 3-season, 72.75 million dollar extension that features 52 million dollars guaranteed.
The deal has a maximum value of 75 million dollars.
Nico (25) is coming off a career-best campaign in which he finished with 80 receptions (ranked 23rd in the league in the past campaign) for 1,297 yards (ranked 8th) and 8 TDs (evened for 8th) in 15 matches.
The wide receiver, picked in the 3rd-round of the 2021 NFL Draft, would have become unrestricted free agent after this campaign. In 3 years, the ex-Michigan talent has 150 catches for 2,224 yards and 11 TDs.
The new deal comes after Texans upgraded its receiver room when it exchanged next year’s 2nd-round selection to the Bills for WR Stefon Diggs and 2 draft selections at the beginning of April. Stefon is set to become a free agent after the end of the upcoming campaign after Houston voided the final 3 seasons on his deal while providing him with 3.5 million dollar raise.
