NHL champion Colorado Avalanche, acquired forward Lars Eller from the Washington Capitals. The 33-year-old Dane has seven goals and nine assists in 60 games this season, with Washington paying 31 percent of his annual salary after the deal and Colorado covering the remaining 69 percent.
In exchange for Eller’s services, the Metropolitans will receive a pick in the second round of the 2025 draft. Lars Eller was selected No. 13 in the 2007 draft by the St. Louis Blues. He had 14 NHL seasons with the St. Louis, Montreal Canadiens and Washington with 160 goals and 204 assists in 930 games.
