WR Alec Pierce is returning to the Indianapolis Colts with a 4-season, 116 million dollar contract.
The wide receiver’s return was uncertain after Indianapolis used the transition tag on QB Daniel Jones, allowing Alec to become a free agent. However, a contract averaging 29 million dollars per campaign ensured the WR’s return.
Alec had his best campaign as a pro last year, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards for the 1st time in his career and leading the league in yards per catch for the 2nd consecutive season. Pierce finished with 1,003 receiving yards on 47 catches for a 21.3 yards per reception average.
Already 1 of the best deep-ball threats in football, Alec further solidified himself in that regard; 36.2% of his receptions were for 20 yards or longer. He also finished with a career-low 1 dropped pass.
Indianapolis started the past year with the hottest offense in the league. The biggest reason for that was RB Jonathan Taylor alongside Pierce.
Free agent WR Alec Pierce has agreed to terms to remain in Indianapolis on a historic 4 year $114M deal that will make him the highest paid free agent receiver in NFL History.
