The Washington Commanders have given DT Jonathan Allen the opportunity to seek a trade, GM Adam Peters shared, signaling an end to their 8-year time together.
The general manager shared only positive things about the defensive tackle and shared his gratitude for the time that Allen spent with the organization. However, that doesn’t mean that Jonathan will leave the team for certain.
“Everything is still possible in terms of whether he will be traded or remain Commanders player,” the GM revealed. “It is a process at the moment. It is still too early to predict the outcome.”
Jonathan, a 2-time Pro Bowler, has a cap hit of 22.3 million dollars. The franchise would save 16.3 million dollars in cap space whether the DT is traded or released before the beginning of June.
The #Commanders have had trade conversations centered around Pro Bowl DL Jonathan Allen, sources say.

Allen (30) missed 9 matches in the past campaign with a torn left pectoral muscle that was initially revealed to be a campaign-ending. But his injury was not as serious, and he returned to the field late in the season.
