McDavid has already achieved the best statistical season of the 21st Century in the National Hockey League.

The centre, captain, and star of the Edmonton Oilers notched 60 goals so far this season and has 139 points before the game against Arizona Coyotes on Monday. However, he needs to score 10 more goals to become the 1st player to hit 70 goals milestone in 30 years.

“I mean, sure, nothing’s impossible,” McDavid told the NHL site in an interview published Sunday. “You know, obviously, you need to go on a big run, and certainly anything is possible.

“Again, is it something I will be looking for or pressing for? Probably not. I mean, it’s more important how our team is playing heading into the playoffs. That’s the most important thing, the thing we work all season for.”

Connor is the 4th NHL player to score at least 60 goals in the regular season since Mario Lemieux ended up with 69 notches in 1996-97. The other 3 players that hit the 60-goal milestone are Alex Ovechkin, Steven Stamkos, and Auston Matthews.

No one notched at least 70 goals since the 1992-93 season when 2 players did – Alexander Mogilny and Teemu Selänne each finished with 76 goals.
