The Dallas Cowboys are close to a deal to acquire veteran LB Logan Wilson from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cincinnati will get a 7th-round draft selection in the exchange.
The deal comes less than 24 hours after Dallas (3-5-1), who have 1 of the league’s worst defenses in the current campaign, was beaten 27-17 at home vs. the Cardinals on MNF.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones shared before the match that the Cowboys were close to a trade ahead of today’s trade deadline. That exchange is expected to be about Wilson, who demanded to leave Cincinnati in September.
Logan, who has 2 years remaining on a 4-year, 36 million dollar extension he inked during the offseason in 2023. Wilson had at least 100 tackles each of the past 4 campaigns, but has seen reduced playing time in the current campaign with Cincinnati.
Dallas is 31st in the league in total defense (397.4 yards per match) and scoring defense (30.8 points per match), as they are ahead of only Cincinnati in both categories.
