After being sidelined for 2 weeks and 5 matches because of a quad problem, Golden State Warriors leader Stephen Curry notched 39 points for only 32 minutes on the court in his return.
But his efforts weren’t enough to secure the victory for his team, which has been struggling since the beginning of the campaign. The Warriors were defeated 127-120 by the Wolves, who played without Anthony Edwards. Golden State allowed 39 points in the 4th quarter as their record this season now stands at 13-13.
“We didn’t play well enough in defense, and that’s why we lost,” Golden State manager Steve Kerr claimed.
Without Steph, Golden State held 4 of their previous 5 opponents below 100 points and triumphed in 3 of those matches. They had the 3rd-best defensive rating in the league before the game against Minnesota.
But Draymond Green didn’t play for the Warriors this week because of personal issues, and Al Horford is also sidelined with sciatica, leaving Golden State with crucial problems in defense.
“Without Green and Horford, we are vulnerable on defense, and when they didn’t play, we must find a way to get it done also,” Curry shared.
