The Dallas Mavericks will make a trade that will send the 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards as part of an 8-player exchange.
Dallas will get Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, 2 1st-round selections, and 3 2nd-round selections.
Washington will also receive Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell, and Dante Exum in the move.
Dallas has been exploring the market for Anthony, who is 32 years old, since ex-GM Nico Harrison was dismissed at the beginning of November, as the firing of the general manager happened after the supporters of the team were unhappy that he traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers for a deal that brought Davis to the Mavericks.
Anthony, who has been out with a hand problem since the beginning of the year, is averaging over 20 points and 11 boards in 20 matches in the current campaign.
The center landing in Washington marks the 2nd decorated, albeit injured, star basketballer acquired in the current campaign by the franchise from the US capital. The rebuilding Washington also made a deal for the Hawks leader, Trae Young, in January, but he has yet to make his debut for the Wizards because the guard is still out with an injury.
