The Russian won the clay Masters in Rome.

Daniil Medvedev, world number 3, shocked all tennis fans after making his 1st win in his career in the Italian Open in the 2nd round; the Russian continued with the victories and ended up with the trophy at the Rome Masters 1000 after defeating Holger Rune, world number 7, in straight sets (7-5, 7-5).

Medvedev needed only 1 break to win the 1st set 7-5. The Russian triumphed in the 2nd set with the same result; this time, he broke his opponent’s serve 3 times while also allowing Rune to break him twice.

That was the 2nd match between Medvedev and Rune, as the Danish player beat him last month again on clay 2-0 sets in the quarterfinals in Monte Carlo.
