Manchester United’s goalkeeper David De Gea was awarded with the Premier League’s Golden Glove after his team’s 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton on Saturday.
The 32-year-old registered his 16th clean sheet of the season as there are only 3 goalkeepers that could tie that achievement – Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale and Alisson Becker, all on 13 with 3 games remaining.
It is the second time De Gea clinches this award after he did so in 2017-2018 season.
However, despite his prolific performances, the Spaniard has been criticized for a lack of consistency, which has seen unforced errors occur in his game that have proven costly – like his horrendous howler, which gave West Ham the win last weekend.
The Spaniard is set to sign a new contract with the Red Devils, which will see him take a pay cut, lowering his current salary of up to almost 50%.
