The Russian won the 1st set 6-4 after converting 1 break from 7 opportunities while his Australian opponent had 3 break chances but Daniil saved them all.
However, De Minaur dominated in the 2nd set and with 2 breaks won it 6-2 and then the same scenario happened in the 3rd set as the Australian closed it 6-1 as Medvedev didn’t have any break opportunity in the 3rd set.
Daniil converted 1 break in the 4th set but lost his serve 3 times, and Alex won the set and the match to advance to the last 8 remaining players at the French Open.
The Australian will face Zverev or Rune at the ¼ finals of the Grand Slam in Paris.
