The North London club is in talks with Roberto de Zerbi in a bid to make him their new permanent boss.
Igor Tudor left Tottenham by mutual consent during the weekend after only over a month at the helm. Spurs decided to part ways with the Croat after Nottingham beat them 3-0 at their stadium, and that left them only 1 point above the relegation zone.
De Zerbi, who is without a job after leaving Marseille earlier in the current campaign, is the top choice of the directors of Tottenham, and they contacted Roberto even before Igor left to see how he feels about becoming their permanent manager.
The Italian head coach is interested in becoming Spurs manager, but his preference is to wait until the end of the season and to take the job in the summer. However, now that Spurs’ future in the Premier League is in question, the chiefs at the North London club are trying everything possible to convince Roberto to start now and to save the team with 7 matches until the end of the campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to appoint Roberto De Zerbi as the club’s third head coach of the season.
The Italian has been offered a long-term contract and significant financial package which would make him one of the highest paid managers in the Premier League.
