DeBrincat was the MVP because he also assisted in the Senators’ goal show, including notches from Austin Watson, Derick Brassard, and Erik Brannstrom. Ottawa goaltender Mads Sogaard stopped 27 shots.
Despite the 7 allowed goals, Brian Elliott saves 28 shots. Mikhail Sergachev and Brayden Point scored the two goals for Tampa Bay, but it didn’t help; this was their 3rd loss in a row.
Lightning will visit the NHL leader Bruins on Saturday, while Ottawa will also travel – to New Jersey to face the Devils on the same day.
