Detroit’s Gardner-Johnson cleared to return

After being defeated in 2 of their last 3 matches, the Detroit Lions could receive a boost in the secondary as DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson has been medically cleared.

The 3-week training window could start as soon as next week for the player, who was sidelined since Week 2 after C.J. sustained a torn pectoral during the 37-31 OT defeat against the Seattle Seahawks and was put on the IR.

Campbell labeled it as fantastic news as the defensive end also talked about his return yesterday on social media.

Lions without a doubt needs help on defense after allowing 25 or more points in 5 consecutive matches, which is the longest active streak in the league. In C.J.’s 2 matches this campaign, he began from the 1^st minute on the field, registering 13 total tackles with 2 passes defended.
