Luis Díaz helped his side as he netted in the 95th minute for the Reds to avoid defeat against Luton, and the game finished 1-1, as the forward still waits for his kidnapped dad to be released by Colombia’s National Liberation Army.
After netting his late goal, the Colombian striker lifted his shirt to reveal a message underneath: “Libertad para papá” (Freedom for dad).

Diaz missed his club’s previous 2 games after his parents were abducted in his native country. His mother was freed within hours and is expected the same to happen with his father, too.
Luis entered the pitch after Liverpool conceded a goal in the 80th minute, and Klopp decided to try everything in search of a goal. Diaz didn’t disappoint him as for his limited minutes on the pitch, he scored.
“A wonderful episode, but it doesn’t change the fact that his dad is still kidnapped. The most important thing is that his dad returns safely home,” admitted Klopp after the match.
