Novak Djokovic is through to the quarter-finals of the Masters 1000 series tournament in Paris after defeating Talon Grikspoor 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4 in a match that lasted 2 hours and 39 minutes. The Dutch player showed great play against the world number 1 and made him work hard to get his place in the last eight.

Djokovic broke early in the first set and quickly took a 3-0 lead, but quickly conceded a break in the seventh game and Grikspoor managed to win 5 games in a row, winning another serve from the Serbian to close out the first set 6-4.
In the second set, the two tennis players did not allow breaks and saved several breakpoints. In the tiebreak, Novak Djokovic was flawless and won it with 7:2 points.
In the decisive third set, Novak Djokovic managed to break his opponent in the fifth game to lead 3:2, but Griekspoor also broke Djokovic’s serve to tie. Right afterwards the Serbian showed no mercy and broke again at 0:40 before finishing off the game.
In the quarterfinals, Novak Djokovic will face Daniel Altmeier or Holger Rune.
