Novak Djokovic has expressed his ambition to coach his close friend Nick Kyrgios in the future.
The two players famously have a close off-court relationship and the 35-year old believes he could use that experience to help his younger competitor achieve Grand Slam silverware.
In the years prior the two shared a cold relationship as they embroiled in a war of words on numerous occasions. However, that status quo is long gone as the two are now close friends and have participated in an exhibition match at the Australian Open recently.
‘I would love to coach Nick Kyrgios,’ Djokovic said.
‘He would win five (Grand) Slams with me, but it would not come cheap!’
The two famously met at last year’s Wimbledon final, where Djokovic came the better of the two to clinch his 21st Grand Slam trophy.
