The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a 1-year deal with QB Joshua Dobbs, his agent shared today.

San Francisco is giving the QB a fully guaranteed 2.25 million dollar contract for the upcoming campaign that features another 750 thousand dollars in play-time incentives.
He will replace Sam Darnold as the organization’s reserve QB behind Brock Purdy. Sam inked with the Vikings, the franchise with which Joshua finished the past campaign.
A career reserve before 2023, Dobbs (29) produced 1 of the league’s most unique stories in the past campaign, starting with his late offseason trade from the Browns to the Cardinals, who needed a short-term starter while incumbent Kyler Murray returned from his knee problem.
He started Arizona’s 1st 8 matches, completing over 62% of his passes for 1,569 yards and 8 TDs. But Dobbs also had 12 picks – 8 Interceptions and 4 fumbles – and the team lost 7 of those 8 matches before Joshua was benched.
After that, the Vikings acquired him at the end of October, and he led the team to 2 phenomenal victories, but after that, he lost effectiveness and did not play again for Minnesota.
