Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux, who suffered torn ACL in the team’s spring training game against the San Diego Padres at Peoria Stadium in Arizona on Monday, is expected to miss the entire 2023 season, manager Dave Roberts announced on Tuesday.
Manager Dave Roberts said Lux, who the Dodgers were expecting to be their starting shortstop, will undergo an MRI to identify the injury and the team will evaluate his status from there.
“What I did hear first off was from Gavin. There’s some fear in there — the outside of the knee he heard something pop. And so obviously, you’re always as a player thinking the worst,” Roberts said.
“Our trainers looked at him, I think their doctor looked at him and did some tests manually, but we don’t know a whole lot right now.”
