The Miami Dolphins released Tyreek Hill today in a move that will clear significant salary cap space.
Ex-Pro Bowl LB Bradley Chubb was also informed of his impending release, as it is still unknown if he will be released today or next month after the beginning of the NFL year and be designated as a post-June 1 transaction.
The Dolphins also released OL James Daniels and WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, along with Hill.
Miami is preparing for a new strategy under 1st-season GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and will save the organization around 23 million dollars this year. That number increases to 30 million if Bradley’s release is also now.
Dolphins traded a 1st-round selection, 2nd-round selection, 2 4th-round selections, and a 6th-round selection to the Chiefs 4 years ago to bring Tyreek to Miami, and the franchise inked him to a 4-season, 120 million dollar extension. Hill swiftly became the most productive receiver in the league, posting consecutive 1,700-yard campaigns in his 1st 2 years with the team. However, his performance dropped in 2024, when Tyreek recorded 81 catches for 959 yards and 6 TDs.
He dislocated a knee and tore an ACL at the beginning of the 2025 campaign and missed the remainder of the season.
