The Dallas Mavericks superstar notched 29 points, grabbed 10 boards, and had 8 assists for the victory of Slovenia over Italy 89-85 today in the 7th place match at the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Mike Tobey finished with 12 points, and Zoran Dragic added 10 for the victory.
Marco Spissu scored 22 points for Italy, which lost its last 3 matches at the competition. Simone Fontecchio finished with 16, and Achille Polonara notched 13, but it didn’t help Italy to avoid the defeat against Slovenia.
It was the last match before retirement for Italian veteran and ex-NBA player Gigi Datome. He played 10 minutes against Slovenia and finished with 1 point.
