The Slovenian entered Monday’s game only 11 points shy of 10,000 for his career. Luka hit the milestone in the 1st quarter and did so in the fewest matches of any player since Michael Jordan. Doncic finished the match by becoming only the 4th basketballer in National Basketball League history with a 50-point performance in a Christmas Day clash, securing Dallas 128-114 victory against the Suns.
“Always, when this of a milestone comes with a victory, it’s even more satisfying,” admitted Doncic, who also had 15 assists, 6 boards, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. “It was not an easy match away from home, and we triumphed. So, besides the 10,000 points and 50 points, the Mavericks won the match. So, it is a fantastic moment.”
Luka joined Bernard King, Wilt Chamberlain, and Rick Barry in notching 50 points on Christmas.
