Golden State Warriors center Draymond Green claimed that league’s commissioner Adam Silver talked him out of retirement.
“I admitted to him, ‘Silver, this is too much for me. … I can’t take it. It’s all becoming too much for me — and I’m considering calling it a career,'” Draymond shared. “And the commissioner told me, ‘You’re making a very rash decision, and I’m not OK with that.’
“We had a great discussion — very helpful to me. I’m very happy to be in the NBA with a commissioner like Adam, whose main purpose is to help you, not put you down, giving you a hand rather than punishing you. Silver really cares about the people that play in the league.”
Golden State star is nearly returning from the ban that has extended 14 matches. After Draymond underwent a month of counseling, the league reinstated him in the past weekend, and he is getting ready to return to the court.
In a new edition of the Draymond Green Show, Golden State’s star suggests that Adam Silver talked him out of retirement: “I told him, ‘Adam this is too much for me…It’s all becoming too much for me – and I’m going to retire.’” Story on ESPN: https://t.co/He2qlfALBs
