Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has dropped out of the Top 10 in the ATP rankings, currently ranked 13th in the world. Nadal dropped out of the Top 10 after exactly 6,538 days.
Rafael Nadal entered the Top 10 for the first time on April 25, 2005. In comparison at the time Roger Federer had four Grand Slam titles, Novak Djokovic was 153rd on the list and current No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz was two years old.
Nadal started the year second, but failed to defend his Australian Open title and then got injured. He did not participate in the tournaments in Acapulco and Indian Wells, where he had to defend 500 and 600 points.
Nadal broke the record for most weeks in the Top 10 in 2020 when he overtook Jimmy Connors (789). The Spaniard’s incredible streak has ended at 910 weeks.
The absolute record is held by Martina Navratilova, who was in the Top 10 of the WTA list for 1,000 weeks.
