England secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Latvia in their second successive win in Group K of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The match started with an early scare for England when a misunderstanding between Marc Guéhi and Jordan Pickford in the 18th minute gifted Gutkovskis a chance, but the Latvian forward failed to convert from a tight angle.
Despite an early penalty appeal for Marcus Rashford, which was waved away after VAR review, England maintained their pressure and broke the deadlock in the 38th minute. Reece James stepped up and curled a beautiful free-kick past the helpless Latvian goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
England doubled their lead in the 68th minute through a well-crafted team goal. Declan Rice was played into the box by Jayden Rodgers, and the midfielder found Harry Kane at the far post, who calmly slotted the ball home from close range to make it 2-0.

Substitute Eberechi Eze put the game beyond doubt in the 75th minute. The Crystal Palace star dribbled into the penalty area, beat a defender, and fired a shot that deflected off Latvian captain Chernomordijs before ending up in the net for 3-0.
