Billy Eppler leaves his position as GM of the NY Mets. He resigned from his position today.
The move comes a few days after the ex-Milwaukee Brewers general manager David Stearns was presented as the organization’s 1st ever president of baseball operations.
“For me, it is better, Stearns, to have a clean slate, which meant for me to resign,” Billy said after stepping down. “I hope for nothing but only for the success of the entire Mets team.”

Eppler became part of the New York Mets in 2021. He had previously worked for 5 years as GM of the LA Angels.
“Billy Eppler led this franchise through a 101-victory campaign and playoffs berth during the past campaign, and he will be missed,” owner Steve Cohen shared after his resignation. “We accepted Eppler’s resignation today as he decided it is more fair to hand over the leadership of Baseball Operations to David Stearns. We love him and hope he will succeed in the future.”
