The Bundesliga champions will pay a fee between 2 and 4 million dollars, depending on his performance, to make the transfer permanent.
The German club wanted to ink Radu Drăgușin and made an offer for the defender to rival Tottenham’s bid, which totaled around 30 million dollars. Still, the Romanian player preferred to play in the Premier League.
“We are happy that we’ve been able to ink Eric Dier,” the Bundesliga team sporting director Christoph Freund admitted. “Eric has long been a priority for this transfer window. Dier will be a crucial part of our defense. His sporting abilities and international experience will help the club both on the pitch and in the dressing room.”
Eric’s deal with Spurs was until the end of the campaign and was not part of manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the future.
