Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has strongly criticized the media, accusing them of fabricating “fairytales and lies” about his job security. Ten Hag has faced immense pressure following a poor run of form, including a 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham and a stretch of five games without a win. The club currently sits 14th in the Premier League, raising speculation about his future.

After the Tottenham loss, pundits like former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp claimed that Ten Hag was “out of his depth.” Rumors of his potential dismissal intensified during the international break, especially with members of the Glazer family, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and other United officials meeting in London.
Despite the external pressure, Ten Hag remains in charge and reiterated his confidence in the backing he has received from the club. He expressed frustration that journalists ignored his previous comments following the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, where he stated that he and the club’s leadership were “on one page.”
“The noise is only coming from some of you, creating stories and fairytales and bringing lies,” Ten Hag said. “Internally, it is quiet. Of course, we are unhappy with the position where we are,” Ten Hag added. “The ranking is not lying and it is not good enough, but we are quiet and composed. We stick to the plan and are convinced it will be a success.”
