Spain defeated England 2-1 in the final in the German capital yesterday, with substitute Mikel Oyarzabal netting the winning goal in the last minutes of the regular time after Cole Palmer had evened the result after Nico Williams’ scoring the 1st goal in the final.
It was a record 4th Euro title for Spain, having previously winning the tournament in 1964, 2008 and 2012.
The team landed in the Spanish capital just after 2 p.m. local time today.
A few hours after that, the players and the coaching staff visited the Zarzuela Palace, home of Spain’s King Felipe VI, who had celebrated with them on the pitch in Berlin before meeting with the country’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
After that, the champions took to an open top bus to parade through the centre of Madrid with tens of thousands of supporters on the streets.
