Atlanta Falcons have chosen RB Bijan Robinson as their eight overall pick in the NFL draft.
This is the third year in succession the Atlanta team goes for offensive skill position in the first round.
Robinson notched 1, 580 yards last year with Texas, along with 18 touchdowns. Based on this numbers he is considered as one of the top running backs in the draft.
“He’s an impactful player; he’s a home run hitter,” said Smith of Robinson.
The selection of a running back has stirred some controversies, as the modern era emphasizes much more on the quarter back position and waits later in the draft to address the position.
“Obviously I understand the running back position has been looked at as a less-than position, but for me it’s a blessing,” Robinson said.
“Being a guy that can play running back, play receiver, being versatile,”
“It’s an opportunity to do the same thing,” he added.
