The Atlanta Falcons held discussions with the manager who handed the organization the most painful loss in franchise history.
The team shared today that they have interviewed ex-Patriots manager Bill Belichick for their managerial vacancy, the 1st known interview done by Bill since he and New England mutually parted ways a few days ago.
Belichick has been a head coach for 29 years – 24 with the Patriots and 5 with the Browns, having a 302-165 record and triumphing with 6 Super Bowl trophies with New England. One of those titles came vs. Atlanta, after the Patriots came back from a 28-3 trail in Super Bowl LI to defeat them 34-28 in OT.
It was something that even a few days ago was a topic after the franchise dismissed Arthur Smith after 3 campaigns as Falcons’ head coach.
When New England owner Robert Kraft shared that Bill would no longer be coaching the Patriots, Robert admitted that he would like to continue coaching.
If sources around the league are saying this about #BillBelichick and the #Falcons job opening. It makes my point even more that we need a different energy.
“I don’t think they’ll get Bill. Bill doesn’t want this job, but it might be … (that if ) he’s got no other options,…
