Russian Daniil Medvedev came out all guns blazing, past defending champion Auger-Aliassime of Canada in a 6-2, 6-4 victory on Friday to book his spot in the semi-finals of the 2023 Rotterdam Open.
Medvedev continued his perfect record against the Canadian – extending it to five wins out of five.
It is the first time they have played each other since the 2022 Australian Open, when Medvedev came back from two sets down to secure victory.
The Russian will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who defeated Australia’s Alex De Minaur 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (6) earlier on Friday to reach his third semi-final in Rotterdam.
Dominant once again. 👏
