FIFA didn’t let the scandal involving the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales slip and the World Football Governing body announced it had launched a disciplinary investigation into Rubiales’ actions after the Women’s World Cup final in Australia and New Zealand, which was won by Spain.
As is known, he kissed soccer player Jenny Hermoso on the lips, which it was obvious wasn’t with her consent. In addition, in his joy of success, Rubiales demonstratively grabbed his crotch, and this happened in the boxes of the stadium.
In this regard, FIFA will now investigate whether the Spanish football boss breached point 13 of the disciplinary code, which deals with fair play and misconduct by match officials.
Otherwise, the prosecutor’s office in Spain was referred for possible sexual assault by Rubiales because of the kiss in question. A meeting of the Executive Committee of the football headquarters is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday), at which the case with the president will be considered.
