FIFA revealed that more than 1.5 million ticket applications came in within just 24 hours of opening the presale stage for the 2026 World Cup. Fans from 210 countries have already registered their interest.
The strongest demand has come from the three host nations — the United States, Mexico and Canada. Applications from Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, England, Spain, Portugal and Germany followed closely behind.
The 2026 edition will feature 104 matches across 16 cities in North America, making it the biggest World Cup in history. With interest at record-breaking levels, FIFA emphasized that the timing of applications will not influence chances of success, as the presale draw remains open until September 19 at 11:00 ET (17:00 CET).
Fans selected through the draw will receive email notifications starting September 29, with ticket purchases opening on October 1 through designated time slots.
