Real Madrid president Florentino Perez attempted to sidestep questions regarding the transfer of Kylian Mbappe to the Spanish giants.
The head of the “Los Blancos” spoke after their victory in the Spanish Super Cup, securing a resounding 4-1 win over Barcelona in Riyadh.
Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu in the summer when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain is set to expire. The forward has already declined to sign a new contract with the Parisian club.
“Today is not really the day to talk about that. Today is the day to congratulate the players we have, not those who belong to other teams,” tactfully commented Perez. The drama around the French striker continues, as he is still yet to announce his future and the rumors are all over the place – from secured Real Madrid deal to staying in PSG, extending his deal for the second time.
