Former NFL linebacker Bryan Braman has passed away at the age of 38, just months after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in February.
Braman began his professional football journey as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M, signing with the Houston Texans in 2011. Known for his relentless energy and special teams prowess, he spent three seasons in Houston before joining the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played from 2014 to 2017.

His final NFL appearance came in Super Bowl LII, where he was part of the Eagles’ historic win over the New England Patriots. In the aftermath of that victory, Braman celebrated on the field with his daughters, Blakely and Marlowe — a moment he later described, along with the birth of his daughters and the Super Bowl win, as one of the greatest achievements of his life.
The Eagles paid tribute to Braman with a heartfelt statement on Thursday:
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bryan Braman. During his four seasons in Philadelphia, Bryan was a loyal teammate, a supporter of the community, and a valuable member of our Super Bowl LII-winning team. More importantly, he was a devoted father who passionately loved his family and everyone around him. We extend our deepest condolences to Bryan’s family and all who are grieving his loss during this difficult time.”
